Sales at Boots have been boosted by vibrant skincare lines loved by celebrities such as model Hailey Bieber.

There was a great Christmas as sales in the three months to the end of February were up 3 percent on a year earlier. Skin care products flew off the shelves and sales increased by 15 percent.

This was thanks to brands such as Drunk Elephant, a favorite of Ms Bieber, as well as Sol de Janeiro and Boots’ own brand No7. UK boss Sebastian James said there was “positive momentum across the business”.

However, the American owners have remained tight-lipped about the future, now that speculation about a possible listing in London has cooled.

According to Bloomberg, this is one of the options being discussed with a possible valuation of £7 billion.
