Samsung updates its Galaxy A51 and A71 handsets with a collection of new features from its flagship Galaxy S20 series. These include new camera features such as Single Take and Night Hyperlapse, along with new sharing, search and translation features. Announcement from Samsung does not say exactly when the update will be released, however GSMArena previously reported that the functionality was rolled out to the A51 last month.
New camera features include Single Take and Night Hyperlapse. Single Take lets you capture multiple different camera modes simultaneously and then choose from the results, while Night Hyperlapse is designed to provide better hyperlapse videos in low light. There is a new custom filter mode that allows you to create filters with your existing photos, and the A51 and A71 are also updated with manual focus and photography shutter speeds.
Outside the camera, the phones are also updated with Samsung’s Quick Share and Music Share features, which let you share media files and Bluetooth connections with nearby devices. The phones keyboards can now directly translate text, the Gallery app can now group similar images for easier navigation and the phones app search is improved.
The mid-range A Series is one of Samsung’s most popular smartphone lineups, and the phones are far more affordable than its flagship Note and Galaxy S devices. With updates like this, Samsung’s latest high-end features will be available for a much cheaper price. In a previous update, many of these features came to last year’s flagships of S10 and Note 10.
