Samsung is organizing an “immersive virtual experience” on September 2, after its decision not to be exhibited at Europe’s largest IFA tech show this year. The 45-minute event that Samsung calls “Life unstoppable, ”Includes new product launches for mobile phones, TVs and home appliances, as well as wearables and audio announcements.
While it’s one of the larger exhibitors at IFA every year, Samsung tends to keep its smaller announcements for the show rather than revealing big new smartphones or wearables. Last year’s biggest announcements included the new Exynos 980 processor with an integrated 5G modem, the redesigned Galaxy Fold and the midrange Galaxy A90 5G smartphone. Given that the event will take place less than a month after the August Unpacked event, a similar set of announcements seems likely.
Meanwhile, IFA announced in May that it plans to hold a personal event on September 3-5 this year. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, organizers say the event will be by invitation only and will be closed to the general public, will be divided into four smaller events with limited attendance and there will be public hygiene measures to try to stop the spread of the virus. In addition to the physical keynotes, digital events are held.
The Samsung Life Unstoppable event will take place on September 2 at 9:00 am Dutch time and will be open to visitors from the media, retail and industry. CNET reports that the event will be accessible to everyone afterwards on the Samsung website.
