The heartbroken father of missing mother-of-three Samantha Murphy has expressed his frustration at not being able to speak openly about his beloved daughter's disappearance.

As the search for Ms Murphy comes down to the efforts of a group of local detectives, John ‘Pud’ Robson told Daily Mail Australia that police had told him to keep his mouth firmly shut.

‘Forget it my friend. “I’m not allowed to say ‘boo,'” Robson said Tuesday afternoon.

“The police have asked us not to say fuck.”

When asked why he couldn’t talk about his daughter, Robson said the police had told him all the information about her and that the investigation would come from them.

“Anything that is going to be published, they will publish it,” he said. ‘We’re not talking friend. Thank you so much.’

Robson said he was hopeful of receiving some kind of news “soon.”

But don’t worry about that. Nobody can do much until something comes up. Thank you for your effort,’ he said.

When asked how he and his family were doing, he responded, “How do you expect us to do?”

Last week, Robson’s sister-in-law Janice Robson told Daily Mail Australia that Robson had been keeping busy by returning to work driving interstate trucks.

Juan went back to work. He said “there’s nothing he can do,” Mrs Robson said.

“And I think if we were put in that position, we would be like that ourselves.”

Murphy’s father had called his brother Allan and Janice just as they were about to sit down to dinner the night she disappeared.

“He said, ‘Oh, Janice, Sam’s gone. “Samantha is missing,” Janice said.

‘I said “What do you mean it disappeared?” He said, “She’s missing. She’s gone out.” He didn’t say she was out running, but she had disappeared. “She hasn’t shown up. She never came back.”‘

Allan said he asked his brother if he knew of any reason why his daughter might have disappeared, but he had no answers.

It is understood that Allan and Janice Robson have since been told not to speak to media representatives for fear of “contaminating the police investigation”.

By then, Victoria Police’s Missing Persons Unit had taken over the investigation, immediately focusing its efforts on the friends and family of the missing 51-year-old man.

On Tuesday, a group of volunteers organized through social media were the only bodies on the ground continuing to search the thick bush where Ms. Murphy was last seen.

Mick, Mrs. Murphy’s husband Murphy told the Herald of the sun Public support had been great and the search effort had been extraordinary so far.

‘Us [would] “I would like to thank each and every person who has donated their time to search for Sam,” Mr Murphy said.

“I hope we can find something soon.”

The group, known online as ‘Ground Crew,’ organized a local search party that began at Eureka Stockade Memorial Park, just off Eureka Street, on Saturday morning.

Ms Murphy left her home on Eureka Street in East Ballarat, northwest of M.elbourn tor go for a run in the WOowookarung Regional Park jshortly after 7am on February 4 and has not been seen since.

State Emergency Services volunteers and police initially searched the bush in an area between Canadian Plantation and Yankee Flat Road, about 15 kilometers from Ms Murphy’s home, where they believe her phone was turned off.
