British professional expert Ben Askins (pictured) received the shocking emails and read out the conversation in a video.

When Sam was offered a job, he was excited, but he wanted to review the paperwork and discuss the opportunity with his wife before accepting.

The candidate was looking for a company that he could work for for the next five years, which he communicated to the employer.

But after explaining that she wanted the weekend to review the opportunity, the interviewee lashed out rudely saying she didn’t expect any wait time.

British career expert Ben Askins read the shocking email exchange between Sam and the employer in a video.

“This is how not to approach a job offer,” Ben said.

The company, known as Sandra, sent him an email on a Friday saying: “Hi Sam, we are pleased to inform you that we are interested in making you an offer for the position of Project Manager. Please find attached the document with the details.”

He added that March 4 would be an ideal start date and that the company was looking forward to welcoming him into the role.

Sam replied: “That’s wonderful news. Thanks for sending me everything. As you know, I’ve really enjoyed meeting the team. If it’s okay with you, I’ll take the weekend to go over everything and think it over and get back to you on Monday.”

“Overall, I am confident that I will accept the position because I consider it a great job. Thank you again for this opportunity.”

But the answer didn’t sit well with Sandra, who was “disappointed” to hear that Sam needed time to think about the offer.

“Please consider taking a huge leap of faith and sending this offer to you first,” he replied.

Ben was surprised by Sandra’s response and noted how Sam “basically accepted the role.”

“It literally makes no sense,” Ben added.

The conversation continued and Sam replied: ‘Apologies if I wasn’t clear, I’m not rejecting the offer at all.

“I’m just saying that I want to take the weekend to think about it and talk it over with my wife. As you know, I’m looking for a place to spend the next five years and so I want to consider everything.”

Ben described Sam’s response as “beyond reason,” but what Sandra said next surprised him even more.

“We didn’t expect you to have to spend time thinking about this. If you’re going to consider your options, please know that we’ll be considering them too. If you take too long, you may find that there’s no job for you,” Sandra explained.

Ben stepped in, speaking to the camera and saying, “I’m sorry, that’s pathetic. That’s a total childish tantrum. Don’t you want someone to actually think about joining you before they do it? It’s objectively idiotic what Sandra’s doing here.”

Instead of accepting the offer, Sam decided to go in a different direction.

“If so, please consider the offer rejected,” he began.

“I have no idea why you took my words so badly, but it suggests that culturally it’s not the right fit for me. I wish you the best of luck with your search.”

Ben was furious with Sandra’s behaviour and said: “I would be furious if I was in charge of Sandra because she has literally cost them what appears to be a really excellent candidate, according to her email. What the hell was she playing at? I have no idea.”

In 24 hours, the video had more than 480,000 views and many people did not understand why Sandra acted that way.

One hiring manager chimed in, saying, “This is crazy. Let them think about it over the weekend. It’s a big decision. This candidate dodged a bullet.”

‘Tip: If they are quick to respond to important decisions, they are not respecting you,’ another woman said.

A third said: “Sam was lucky Sandra reacted like that. It showed him who he would have really worked for.”
