EXCLUSIVE
Kristie Mewis has been spotted for the first time since her fiance Sam Kerr’s racial harassment allegations were exclusively revealed by the Mail, with the American soccer star spotted in central London on Tuesday.
Both Mewis and Kerr have remained completely silent since the news broke on March 5, refusing to make any official comment or even post to their social media.
Neither had been seen in public until the Mail spotted the 32-year-old American in London late on Tuesday afternoon, dressed casually in a tracksuit top, tracksuit bottoms and trainers as she checked her phone during a stroll.

It’s the first time the American soccer star has been seen since the Mail exclusively broke the news that her fiance Sam Kerr has been charged with racially abusing a police officer
Mewis and Kerr have been completely silent since the bombshell news broke – they have not commented publicly and have taken a break from posting on their social media
It has been a tough year for the pair, with Kerr suffering a serious knee injury in early January that looks set to almost stop her fulfilling her dream of playing for Australia at the Paris Olympics.
Then last week came the bombshell news that Kerr faces a four-day criminal trial before a jury next February after being accused of using abusive, threatening or insulting words that caused alarm or distress to a police officer during an incident in Twickenham, south-west London, on January 30 last year.
It was followed by the revelation that the Chelsea star did not inform the Matildas or Football Australia of the charge, with the chief executive of the code’s governing body down under and national coach Tony Gustavsson explaining they only found out when the Mail’s report was published.
Mewis, who currently plays for West Ham in the Women’s Super League, last featured in West Ham’s draw against Manchester United on 4 March, coming off the bench as her teammate Viviane Asseyi’s late equalizer saved the team from defeat.
Mewis and Kerr celebrated their engagement with a party in Perth, Western Australia to ring in the new year – but 2024 hasn’t been kind to them since then
Rumors that she and Kerr were engaged – which were sparked when the Aussie posted a photo showing a gold ring on her wedding finger last September – were confirmed by Mewis last November.
The internationals threw a party to celebrate their engagement as they both spent time in Kerr’s hometown of Perth, Western Australia over the New Year.
The loved-up couple are enjoying a well-deserved break from football and were inseparable as they celebrated on the river at The Raffles Hotel under the Perth summer sun.
Confirming the huge development in an interview with People magazine, Mewis also opened up about Kerr’s unwavering support, particularly in the wake of the US team’s elimination in the quarter-finals of last year’s Women’s World Cup.
Reflecting on their relationship, Mewis called Kerr ‘my biggest supporter, always listening to me laugh and complain, all my crazy antics’.
Some of the last online comments Kerr made before her accusation was revealed came when she commented on a photo of her and Mewis celebrating Matildas teammate Mackenzie Arnold’s 30th birthday.
The West Ham star was seen celebrating Kerr’s hat-trick in Chelsea’s FA Cup win over Liverpool in a post the Aussie posted on Instagram on the day of her alleged slur against the police officer on January 30 last year (pictured)
On the day Kerr appeared in court via video link, Mewis posted a very racy photo of herself wearing a sheer black bodysuit with the words “sher thing”.
Kerr responded to the photo with a GIF of herself in full Matildas kit sticking her tongue out and giving a thumbs up.
Mewis was also pictured with Kerr in an Instagram post the record striker put up on the day of the alleged offense last January.
The Chelsea goal machine had just scored a hat-trick against Liverpool as the Blues won 3-2 to progress to the fifth round of the Women’s FA Cup.
The couple’s romance blossomed after they met while playing for rival US clubs in 2019
The clash was played at home in Kingsmeadow – and at full-time, Kerr posted the picture of her and her fiancĂ© beaming as they hugged on the side of the pitch, accompanied by the words ‘Into the next round’.
The pair met while both playing for rival clubs in the American League in 2019.
They spoke online for almost four months during the 2020 Covid lockdown before spending two weeks in quarantine together where they quickly fell in love.
The couple continued their romance in the run-up to the 2021 Olympics, where they were photographed together after the USA’s defeat to Australia in the semi-finals.
Their on-court embrace made headlines as Kerr’s split from her former longtime partner – another American club player, Nikki Stanton – had yet to become public.
