“Sam and her family respectfully ask for privacy at this difficult time.”
The news is just the latest grief to hit Sam, who had only one full sister from her father’s first marriage to her mother, Carole Ann Wilken.
Singer Sam and Vanessa were known to be extremely close before the tragic death.
It comes after Sam opened up about the death of her partner Myra Stratton last month, who died in 2015 after battling cancer.
She confessed that she “didn’t want to show people” that she was in a “sad place” after the death.
The singer and former glamor model admitted that she struggled with “pretending” to be happy and “couldn’t write songs for two years.”
After falling in love again with her new wife Linda Olsen, 50, Sam revealed that it’s only now that she’s ready to release new music, with an upcoming album on the way.
While attending the ICON Awards in support of a prostate cancer charity Prost8 on Friday night she told MailOnline exclusively: ‘When my ex-partner died I was with her for 16 years and that’s a long, long time..

‘I couldn’t write a text for two years. I just couldn’t write because everything I was writing was very sad and I didn’t want to show people that I was in that sad place.
“It was really hard for me at that time to actually release something and go on stage and pretend I was happy. I was quite sad but time is a healer and then I met Linda.
“I didn’t think at that age that I would ever meet someone I would settle down with for the rest of my life and I did and I’m in such a great place.
“You hit 50 and you lose the, you know, Myra was the love of my life and we were together for 16 years and I never thought I’d be with anyone else.
“I thought that was my mapped out life. So when I met Linda and I fell in love, it was instant love when we met. It really was and I am so happy.
“I am happy to have met such an amazing, beautiful person inside and out and I can trust her unconditionally. And she is not only my mother who is my rock, but also my rock.’
Samantha and Linda tied the knot in July in a lavish ceremony in Essex, after announcing their engagement in March 2020.
The former model walked down the aisle with her partner after they had to postpone their 2020 wedding due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Sam, who enjoyed worldwide success with her 1986 single Touch Me (I Want Your Body), last released an album in 2005 entitled Angel with an Attitude.
The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant previously admitted that it was a rough few years after Myra’s cancer diagnosis in 2013, which she eventually passed away in August 2015.
Myra, aged 60, was Samantha’s romantic partner and manager for 12 years, with the pop star publicly affirming her sexuality the year they began dating.
Speaking on This Morning in 2016, Samantha said, “It’s been a rough few years for me.

“Suffering is over… over two years ago. She was told she was terminal two years before she died, so that was the hardest time, the two years leading up to her death.”
The first I’m A Celebrity… Get me out of here! star originally announced the sad news of Myra’s passing last summer on her Instagram page, writing, “I will always love you.”
In a statement on her Twitter account, Samantha’s team wrote at the time: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Myra Stratton. She has been Samantha Fox’s partner and manager for the past 16 years.
“She fought bravely against cancer for the past 2 years, but lost her battle on Sunday. Samantha asks for privacy as she grieves at this time.”
