Rassie Erasmus praised Sale Sharks after the Premiership club named five players in its Springboks roster to face the Lions.
The South African rugby director has announced Coenie Oosthuizen, Lood de Jager, Dan du Preez, Jean-Luc du Preez and Faf de Klerk in his 46-strong group.
Erasmus said: ‘The nice thing about the Sale setup, playing with Faf at nine, the Du Preez brothers jumping in the lineout together – they are in sync.
“Look, it’s terrible for a losing player because South African rugby doesn’t have the money to keep them, but if you lose them to a set up like Sale, it’s well done for Sale and well done for them. We are very impressed with what is happening in Sale.”
Erasmus made his concerns about Duane Vermeulen known and chose Jasper Wiese from Leicester as a cover. “You can’t get around Jasper’s form. He’s been the excellent man,” he added.
