Sadio Mane can take Leroy Sane’s No 10 shirt at Bayern Munich, suggests German star’s father
Sadio Mane can take over Leroy Sane’s number 10 shirt at Bayern Munich if he wants to wear the same number as at Liverpool, the German star’s father suggests.
- Sadio Mane completed his £35.1m move to Bayern Munich from Liverpool
- The shirt number of the superstar attacker at his new club has not yet been revealed
- He could take the No. 10 jersey, which he wore with Liverpool and for Senegal
- Leroy Sane is currently wearing it, but is open to handing it over, according to his dad
Leroy Sane is said to be willing to hand over his number 10 Bayern Munich shirt to Sadio Mane after the attacker arrived from Liverpool earlier this week.
That’s according to Sane’s father, who has commented on the transfer now that the £35.1m move has been officially approved and revealed.
Germany international Sane was handed the jersey when he switched from Manchester City in 2020, although Mane may offer competition for it next season.

Sane is currently wearing the jersey, but his dad has said he’s open to handing it over
After wearing the number during his time at Anfield and currently on the international stage with Senegal, he may want it back.
And it looks like there would be no issues between the two team-mates in that case, with Souleymane Sane insisting an agreement is possible.
“Sadio Mane is known by the number 10 at Liverpool and the national team, while my son wears him at Bayern,” said Sane Snr. Radio Futures Media.
Mane enjoyed countless standout moments in Liverpool with the 10 adorned on his back
“If Sadio wants the number 10, I’m sure Leroy wouldn’t mind giving it to him.”
Mane has admitted he believed this summer was the ‘right time’ to take on a new challenge, and he left his former club on good terms.
There he won several awards, including the Champions League and Premier League, and scored 120 goals from 269 appearances in all competitions.
After his move to Bayern, he said: “I was very, very clear in my head.
During his unveiling, the attacker admitted he had no hesitation in accepting Bayern’s offer
“When I was told about Bayern’s interest, we discussed it.
“I think it wasn’t even days, but seconds and I made my decision.
“I think it’s the right decision, at the right time and at the right club. As a Bayern supporter or Bayern player, you already know the club’s project.
“When you play for this club, you have to know that you are here to fight for all kinds of trophies.”
