Sacramento police closed several downtown streets around several federal buildings Thursday morning due to “suspicious circumstances,” according to authorities.
Sacramento police did not immediately provide further details about the situation, but announced that a person of interest was arrested in connection with the closure.
Police announced shortly after 8 a.m. that they were assisting federal authorities in responding to the incident. Around 9:30 a.m., police reopened most streets in the area, except for 5th Street between H Street and I Street.
On Twitter, the Sacramento attorney Mark Reichel posted a photo of what appeared to be police tape around a truck parked in front of the federal courthouse on I Street, near 5th Street.
This is a developing story.
