Sabrina Carpenter has called Barry Keoghan a “great actor” amid rumours the stars have ended their relationship.
The Espresso singer, 25, who recently spoke about falling in love following claims she dumped the Saltburn actor, 31, also released her long-awaited sixth studio album, Short n’ Sweet, on Friday.
During an interview with The GuardianThe star briefly spoke about Keoghan, shortly after it was revealed that the pair’s romance is reportedly “on and off.”
In June, Barry made an appearance in her music video for Please Please Please and reflected on working with the Irish-born star.
Carpenter said it was “one of the best experiences I’ve ever had,” adding, “I feel very honored and humbled to be able to work with such a great actor.”

He then mocked his own “timid diplomacy” and repeated in a nasal voice: “What a great actor!”
Speaking about having her private life in the spotlight and living in an age where social media is prominent, Sabrina admitted: “It’s not what I signed up for, but I can’t really help who I was born into.”
“I want to be honest, I want to write about what happens to me in life as a 25-year-old girl, but it’s something that’s part of the process and I have to say: OK!”
The Sue Me singer previously spoke about Keoghan’s cameo in her Please Please Please music video while speaking to Variety Earlier this month.
“He loved the song. He’s obsessed with the lyrics and I’m so grateful for that,” she told the publication.
“I don’t want to sound biased, but I think he’s one of the best actors of this generation. So seeing him on screen with my song as the soundtrack made the video better and more special.”
And while the beauty kept the details of her romance under wraps, she also stated: “Barry is a Libra, and so is my sister. They are very different, but they have similarities. I tend to gravitate towards Leos too.”
Carpenter and Keoghan first sparked dating rumors late last year in December when the two were spotted having dinner together in Los Angeles.
In June, Barry made a cameo appearance in her Please Please Please music video and reflected on working with the Irish-born star.
Carpenter said it was “one of the best experiences I’ve ever had,” adding, “I feel very honored and got to work with such a great actor.” It was seen in New York in May.
And in May of this year, the two made their red carpet debut when they attended the 2024 Met Gala in New York. The stars stopped to snap some memorable photos together during the festivities.
Later that month, the actor helped throw a party for Sabrina to celebrate her 25th birthday.
In June, she was asked about her romance with Keoghan during an interview with Rolling Stone and replied: “How can I avoid this issue?”

At one point, Amelia asked, “Do you find it easy to fall in love?” to which Sabrina replied, “What question are you asking me in this chicken shop?”
“When I was younger I fell in love very easily and now I fall in love a little bit more… I don’t want this to sound sad, but maybe I fall in love with a little bit more knowledge,” the beauty added.
