Rylan Clark Shows Off His Shiny New Porcelain Veneers

The smile was back and brighter than ever as Rylan Clark completed his dental makeover after describing the emotional pain that followed his divorce from husband Dan Neal.

The presenter paid a visit to Dr. Richard Marques at his clinic in central London, whose previous celebrity patients have included Olympic swimmer Tom Daley, TV personality Joey Essex and former Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw.

Rylan, 33, chose to have porcelain veneers placed at the leading dental practice, which lists restorative dentistry, periodontal health and advanced aesthetics as specialties.

When he returned on Wednesday to visit Dr. Marques, the presenter looked delighted as he showed off his shiny veneers on a tour of the clinic — typically thin flakes of dental ceramics placed over the existing teeth.

The Marques team offers free 30 minute consultations, with variable prices and depending on the type of treatment required, although some clinics offer porcelain veneers for a £1,200 stadium.

Rylan divided fans after unveiling his first set of veneers in 2013, shortly after he rose to prominence as a contestant on The X Factor.

He told Notebook magazine: ‘The day before I started hosting Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, my first presentation job, I got my veneers done.

“My mouth was swollen from the anesthetic, they were radiant white, brand new. That was the first night everyone saw them, and all people did was take the teeth out of my teeth.

“So nobody realized I was a presenter, and by the time they stopped talking about my teeth a few months later, I had gotten better at the job.”

Rylan recently admitted he “didn’t know if he could live” after the breakdown of his marriage to husband Dan Neal last year, taking a much-discussed step out of the limelight.

The TV personality shocked his fans when he temporarily stopped hosting BBC Radio 2 but has now confessed that he was hospitalized for ‘security reasons’ after refusing food.

He dropped to just nine stone, admitting that he was “a danger to himself” and “didn’t think he would get better” when things were at their worst, nor that he “would be here today.”

At a time when drones flew over his house and the concern of his adoring supporters was mounting, Rylan revealed he couldn’t have felt more lonely.

He told The Observer: ‘It’s really weird to talk about this because I haven’t even talked about it with my friends. I just never thought I’d get this sick.’

“I went to a little over 9 and I’m 6’1. It got bad. Like, very bad. And I didn’t think it would get any better. I needed help.’

The former X Factor contestant confessed that he “didn’t know himself on certain points” and “had thoughts and did things that made him twist.”

He continued, “I didn’t think I’d be here. I didn’t think I could go on [to work or to live]. I didn’t think I’d actually come back. I was very… gone.’
