Ryan Seacrest’s ex, Shana Wall, is suing American Airlines over a drink she says was laced with plastic.
Wall, 51, filed the lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday, alleging she suffered damage to her throat, vocal cords and digestive tract as a result of the plastic fragments.
The suit also claimed the incident left her bedridden and unable to work for a month and requiring constant medical care.
Wall, a certified sommelier based in Manhattan, is seeking unspecified damages for the incident, which reportedly occurred on May 1.
She dated the TV host in the early 2000s and wrote that Americans “had a duty to provide food and drink that was uncontaminated and fit for consumption.” Seacrest, 49, recently split from model Aubrey Paige, 27.

Wall, 51, filed the lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday, alleging she suffered damage to her throat, vocal cords and digestive tract as a result of the plastic fragments.
‘(American) created the dangerous, defective and unsafe condition on the aircraft,’ says an excerpt from the lawsuit, first reported by The New York Postread.
‘(Wall) was served a drink in a glass containing broken plastic and glass shards, (causing) serious injuries to his throat, esophagus, vocal cords and digestive system.
‘(American) is strictly liable because it provided the plaintiff with a beverage that was contaminated and unfit for human consumption.’
The former ‘Amazing Race’ contestant added that the incident occurred on an American Airlines flight from John F. Kennedy International Airport, while offering some insight into the alleged injuries she sustained as a result.
An extract read: ‘She was made to suffer illness, pain, lameness and disability; she was confined to her house and bed; she was made to lose the enjoyment of life.
‘She was left unable to perform the duties of her occupation, suffering wage and financial losses, (and) has incurred, and will continue to incur in the future, expenses for the treatment of her injuries.’
“She was forced to spend money on medical services and other medical care and treatment,” the documents add.
The lawsuit concluded by demanding compensation from the airline for alleged negligence. No further details were provided.
The model who once appeared on Amazing Race dated Seacrest from 2003 to 2005 and is originally from California. The two are pictured together in 2005.
She is now a certified sommelier in Manhattan and is seeking unspecified damages for the May 1 incident.

At the time, the pair were spotted on Memorial Day at a party in the Hamptons, and a couple of years later, on Seacrest’s final day on Live! With Kelly and Ryan in April 2023, Aubrey posted a tribute on Instagram with three photos.
“Ryan, I have never met a more inspiring man,” she wrote. “You make it look so easy, but the truth is, there is no one like you. I am beyond proud of you. Not only for your work ethic, but for your kind heart and the genuine love you give to others.”

In December, breakup rumors about the couple surfaced when Aubrey posted a photo of herself celebrating with her family minus Ryan.
She also didn’t post a birthday message for the New Year’s Rockin’ Eve host when he turned 49 on Christmas Eve.
Seacrest, meanwhile, has dated several other stars since then, most recently having a three-year romance with much younger model Aubrey Paige (pictured). The couple announced their split in April.

A source told PEOPLE at the time of the split: ‘After three beautiful years together, Ryan and Aubrey have mutually decided to part ways.
‘They plan to remain in each other’s lives as good friends and support each other in their endeavors.’

The video on her Instagram page was also accompanied by audio of Nicki Minaj in a previous interview, in which she said: ‘I’m fully aware of what they say about me. No. 1. And I don’t give a f***.’

Julianne responded: “That was exactly the dynamic. The rug was pulled out from under my feet and I was flying around and experiencing things I didn’t even know existed.”
She admitted: ‘I had that insecurity and I was like, ‘I don’t want anyone to ever think that I’m with him for that reason.’
