Ryan Reynolds likes to keep his mother happy and he’s not shy about mentioning his wife’s name to do so.
The actor, 47, who hinted at a surprise guest star in the latest Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, was sitting quietly in the front row with his mother, Tammy, when Whoopi Goldberg surprised the studio audience.
“You never know what’s going on here on The View,” the moderator said about halfway through Monday’s show.
‘You know, sometimes you look up and say, “Oh, this is really cool.” And then you look and say, “Oh wow! There’s Ryan Reynolds!” in the clip shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The IF star was caught on camera sitting calmly next to her mother in the front row.
Ryan Reynolds, 47, helped make one of his mom’s dreams come true when he took her to see The View in New York on Monday.
The actor smiled and greeted the presenters.
“Just curious,” Goldberg began, “this isn’t something that happens often…what are you…how is that?” she asked.
“Well, okay, by the way, this is a lot less stressful than up there,” he told the panel.
“My mom is here visiting her grandchildren… and yesterday she said, ‘My dream is to go on The View,'” he explained.
‘Oh my God,’ one of the hosts exclaimed.
‘First of all, I try to do what she says, because you don’t know what she’s capable of. “Just unspeakable violence, my whole life,” the Welcome to Wrexham star joked.
“So, I didn’t want to try the back of his hand, so I said, ‘Let’s go to The View.'”
‘We made a call and I said, “I’m Blake’s husband, I’d like to come on The View, does that take us a little further?” And then, here we are,” he explained, referring to his wife and fellow actress Blake Lively, 36.

The actor explained that his mother was “visiting her grandchildren… and yesterday she said, “My dream is to go on The View.”

Addressing her mother, she told the audience, “I think my mom thought I was going to be on The View, maybe, I’m not sure,” at which point Tammy laughed and mouthed the word “no.”

“Every day,” she replied. Right now they are recording it (at home),’ she told them while the audience applauded.

‘Can we get a deal on Mint Mobile?’ -Ana Navarro asked.
“Of course,” the founder responded, “but that’s a deal, Ana, come on.”
“I love that commercial,” Ana Navarro said.
“And tell Blake to come over,” Griffin joked. ‘Done, of course,’ the actor quickly responded.
