Gosling will play Paul Cole, an actor who gets stuck after a brutal attack in rural Ohio in the 1950s.

Cole suffers from amnesia as he struggles to return to New York City and reclaim the life he had lost.

The film is based on Donald E. Westlake’s novel Memory, which was written in the 1960s and published posthumously in 2010, two years after Westlake died at the age of 75.
