CHICAGO (AP) — Pinch hitter Adley Rutschman hit a two-run single to break the tie in the eighth inning, Gunnar Henderson hit his 17th home run and Baltimore Orioles beat chicago white sock 6-4 on Friday night.
Center fielder Colton Cowser stolen Tommy Pham of a solo home run for the last out and the Orioles held on for another close victory a day after beating Chicago 8-6 in a game game that ended with an infield fly and an interference call.
Ryan O’Hearn doubled leading off the eighth against Juan Brebbia and Antonio Santander walked with one out. After Cowser lined out, Rutschman rebounded on a 3-2 pitch with a diving single to left field. andres benintendi caught.
O’Hearn scored easily and Santander hustled early on in the play. He dove headfirst around the wall to make it 6-4 and the Orioles won their second straight after a three-game sweep in Saint Louis.
“You’re not playing, you feel that adrenaline when you first walk in there,” Rutschman said. “Usually there are great situations. (You’re) trying to calm your mind a little bit, prepare as much as you can in the cage to be as relaxed as possible going in there.”
Henderson doubled and scored in the third. He hit a two-run homer off the White Sox starter Chris Flexen in a three-run fifth that made it 4-0.
The White Sox scored three in the bottom half against Corbin Burnes with a double producer Andrew Vaughan and two-run single Paul De Jong. Vaughn tied the score at 4 with one out in the seventh when he hit a solo home run off Yennier Canó.
Burnes went six innings and allowed three runs on seven hits. Danny Coulombe (2-0) pitched the eighth. Craig Kimbrel He got three outs for his 11th save in 14 opportunities, striking out Zach DeLoach and retire Nicky Lopez on a ground ball before Cowser pounced and finished with a spectacular catch.
The White Sox fell to a major league-worst 15-37 with their seventh loss in eight games.
Flexen allowed four runs on five hits in 4 2/3 innings in another tough outing. The right-hander allowed seven runs in four innings in a loss to the New York Yankees on Sunday.
Vaughn drove in two runs and scored twice.
“He feels good at the plate,” manager Pedro Grifol said. “That’s who he is. The home run was impressive to right-center field. The double was impressive, it was impressive between the left center and the center. That’s Vaughnie.”

Orioles: RHP Dean Kremer (right triceps strain) was placed on the 15-day injured list, another blow to their rotation after the veteran John means (left forearm strain) was placed on the 15-day list the day before. Manager Brandon Hyde said Means was seeking a second opinion.
White Sox: RHP placed dominican leone (right elbow inflammation) on the 15-day disabled list and recalled RHP Justin Anderson from Triple-A Charlotte. …General manager Chris Getz told OF Luis Roberto Jr. (right hip) is “very well” rehabilitating in Arizona.
