Ruth Langsford has shared an update on the health of her and Eamonn Holmes’ beloved dog Maggie, as she is reportedly “on the verge of losing custody” of the pet amid their “nasty” divorce.
The 64-year-old TV icon informed her Instagram followers that the adorable Border Collie mix was recovering from surgery.
“Maggie had a small wart removed this morning under sedation so she’s feeling a bit down on herself this afternoon. She needs lots of TLC from mum. Thank you @stgeorgesveterinarycentre for looking after our gorgeous girl,” she wrote.
Ruth accompanied him with a touching clip of 14-year-old Maggie leaving the vet’s office and then some more clips as he held her at home.
The Loose Women alum adopted the dog with her ex-husband Eamonn, 64, in 2011 and Maggie is said to be like a “second daughter” to them.

“Maggie is like a daughter to them. They adore her. But she is moving on and they know she needs stability,” a source said. Sun.
‘The question is who can give her that. Eamonn adores her and Maggie has been a great support during his health problems. The thought of giving her up breaks his heart.
“But if Ruth can get out and about more, then it’s quite possible she could stay with Maggie in the division.”
The source added that the former couple is seeking a reasonable breakup agreement “without involving any lawyers.”

It has since been reported that Eamonn had become close to a younger female friend over the past year with whom he had been on a “series of outings”, and Ruth was said to have been “devastated” when she discovered “messages from another woman” on his laptop.
Her busy work week comes when she has been taking an extended break from Loose Women amid the split, but is due to return this month.

This comes after it was revealed that Ruth had decided to take some time off work after learning that Eamonn has not been alone in his woes following their split, as he is being comforted by two blonde beauties.
The GB News presenter has received help from relationship counsellor Katie Alexander and beautician Lisa Harris to overcome his issues.
Divorced mother-of-three Katie has reached out to the star after a “series of outings” together and has reportedly said she is “here for the long haul”.
A source previously told The Mirror: ‘She is helping Eamonn through the tough times but doesn’t want to be seen as a marriage wrecker.
‘The friendship has grown in recent months, but Eamonn’s marriage ended some time ago.’
The source added: “She wants to help Eamonn with his situation and their friendship has grown over time. She feels she will be close to him for a long period and is in this for the long haul.”
Katie has been seen visiting Eamonn at his rented flat in south-west London from her home in Yorkshire.
The pair reportedly struck up a friendship over the past few years and the publication claims Eamonn took her on a trip to a safari park, a Manchester United match and a Beyoncé concert.
While her friendship with Katie is not said to be a reason for the marriage breaking up, it is understood that Ruth had not heard from her until recently and decided to take some time off work.
A source said SunRuth was obviously aware that her marriage was falling apart, but as details emerge, her disgust has turned to anger.

The couple met through Twitter after the woman commented on a post, sparking a conversation between them.
Friends explained that the woman’s counselling skills include dealing with “feelings of sadness” and “separation and divorce”, so it seems fitting that she would support Eamonn in this time of uncertainty.

A friend of Eamonn’s told MailOnline that Lisa has been a “shoulder to cry on” for him, saying: “Lisa has been there to support him through his marital problems over the last few years. They have even gone out together recently.
‘She has become close to him and has been there to offer him a shoulder to cry on over the past few years as his marriage to Ruth fell apart.’
