Ruth Langsford is reportedly ‘taking a break’ from Loose Women following her painful split from husband Eamonn Holmes.
The presenter, 64, and Eamonn, also 64, announced last week their plans to divorce after 14 years of marriage and 27 years together.
And since then, Ruth has reportedly been left hurt after discovering that Eamonn is being comforted by a woman in her forties amid their separation who he befriended.
Now friends have said Ruth will extend her time off for the rest of June, but plans to return to the ITV show in July. She was last seen on screen in May.
A friend told him Mirror: ‘Ruth was hurt when she found out about Eamonn’s friendship with another woman, but she is strong and will be back soon with a smile on her face, giving her best, as she always does.

Ruth’s friends have reportedly insisted there is “no chance” of her reuniting with her husband Eamonn.
Ruth recently discovered that Eamonn is being comforted by a younger friend, a blonde divorcee and relationship counsellor, with whom he has been on a “series of outings”, according to Sun.
The pair reportedly struck up a friendship in recent years and the publication claims Eamonn took her on a trip to a safari park, a Manchester United match and a Beyoncé concert.
Eamonn has reportedly grown closer to the woman over the past year.
The friend also insisted there was “no chance” of the couple getting back together.
Reports claim Eamonn and the woman got in touch via social media after they were both involved with a mental health charity.
A spokesperson for Ruth said: ‘Ruth had a holiday booked from Loose Women and has extended her leave. She is looking forward to returning to the show in due course.”

And on Saturday, reports first emerged that Eamonn is being comforted over his fractured marriage by the blonde divorcee in her forties who is also a relationship counsellor.
According to The Sun, Eamonn has been getting close to an unknown woman since last year after they first came into contact several years ago.
While she is not said to be the reason for the marriage breakdown, it is understood Ruth did not know her until recently and she will not appear on TV again this week.
A source told The Sun: ‘Ruth will not appear on screen again this week.
“She has decided to extend her break from ITV, so she will not be returning to the Loose Women panel just yet.”
According to The Sun, Eamonn has become close to an unknown woman since last year after they first came into contact several years ago.
The broadcaster is said to have taken the woman out for walks, including a visit to a safari park, and pampered her with gifts. It is not said that she is the reason for the breakup of the marriage.
He also supported a charity linked to his work and helped organize a free fundraising event.
The woman’s name has never been mentioned, Eamonn made sure not to reveal it on social media, and the publication reported that Ruth was apparently unaware of their meetings until recently.
And a friend has now told The Mirror: “Ruth was hurt when she found out about Eamonn’s friendship with another woman, but she is strong.”
Sources told the newspaper that Eamonn treated his close friend to several extravagant days out, including a Beyonce concert, a visit to Center Parcs last year and tickets to watch his favorite team, Man United, play at Old Trafford.
They explained: ‘Ruth was obviously aware that her marriage was falling apart, but as details emerged, her upset turned to anger.
“Eamonn’s friend is amazed by the attention and kindness he gives him.”
The couple met through Twitter after the woman commented on a post and that sparked a conversation between the couple.
Friends explained that the woman’s counseling skills include dealing with “feeling sad” and “separation and divorce,” so it seems appropriate that she supports Eamonn in this time of uncertainty.
