Mike Williams and Russell Wilson didn’t have much time to work together before Sunday’s game against the Commanders, but that didn’t stop them from connecting at a key moment in the fourth quarter.
On third-and-9, Wilson ordered Williams to run a pass route he didn’t practice after joining the team in a trade with the Jets last Tuesday, and Wilson dropped the ball into his hands for a 32-yard touchdown that set the score. Steelers on their way to a 28-27 victory.

Wilson was talking about Williams, but he might as well have been talking about himself. There were a lot of questions about what he had left in the tank after two dismal seasons in Denver, but his first three starts with the Steelers resulted in three wins, six touchdown passes and creating a lot of hope for what the future will be like.
