The 60-year-old Hollywood actor bought the luxury property for $14.35 million in 2003 and considered putting it up for sale for $25 million eight years ago.
After asking for confirmation that Crowe’s luxury apartment was on the market, Grant Vandenberg, the star’s media director, told Domain: “People are always asking questions about it.”
Crowe may have been convinced to part with his prized apartment since the sale of a penthouse and sub-penthouse in the exclusive One Sydney Harbor block reached an incredible $140 million in 2019.
In 2017, he turned down a $25 million offer for his beloved Finger Wharf residence.
This impressive property covers an area of 1,000 m² and was initially designed to house four separate private apartments.
Russell’s pad has 11 rooms, having combined four properties in the complex, and even has its own dock in the 35-metre marina.
Hoping to nearly double his initial investment, Crowe put the apartment up for sale for up to $30 million. However, upon not receiving said amount, he decided to take it off the market.
According to Domain, the original owners of the condo were Nutrimetics founder Imelda Roche and her late husband Bill Roche, who bought it off the plan in 1998 for $9.8 million.
Additionally, there were reports that Crowe received an offer of $13 million in 2018 for two titles within the property.

The offer was made by Sam Barnett, son of former Western Australian premier Colin Barnett.
However, Crowe’s management announced that there was no offer because the flat was not for sale at the time.
In 2021, Crowe made headlines when the Sydney Morning Herald reported that the notoriously private star had installed a Scandinavian barrel sauna on the balcony of her Finger Wharf apartment.
At that time, this type of sauna sold for more than $10,000.
Crowe has a large property portfolio, including a sprawling 400-hectare Nana Glen rural property near Coffs Harbor on the New South Wales north coast.
The property, which has been affected by bushfires before, also has its own chapel where he married his ex-wife Danielle Spencer in 2003.
Crowe is now in a relationship with Britney Theriot, whom he has been dating since 2020.
