- A defective train has partially closed the North Shore line in Sydney
- Commuters recommended taking buses or taking the North Line train to Epping
- A broken train in the town hall led to chaos during rush hour
A broken train at one of Sydney's busiest stations has caused commuter morning chaos for commuters.
Trains running on the north coast of Sydney are currently being canceled due to a faulty train in the town hall on Friday morning.
Commuters on the partially closed line are advised to catch bus lines 290, M20, 343 or 263 from the town hall to North Sydney or travel via the northern line and change to Epping.
Services from the west of Sydney are diverted to the City Circle line instead of traveling to the North Shore.
Commuters on other lines are also encouraged to allow extra travel time, listen to announcements, check real-time apps and indicator boards.
Sydney Trains tweeted at 7.30 am that emergency technicians were still on site to solve the mechanical problem.
More to come.
