Everyone knows that a Shadow of the Erdtree expansion is currently in development for Elden Ring, but as it was recently discovered, the RPG was supposed to have two major expansions before that strategy was apparently tweaked.
Lance McDonald, specialist in discovering the mysteries and secrets of games FromSoftware, via Redditrevealed that the Japanese development team was originally planning to release a season pass with two major expansions for the Elden Ring game.
It appears that The Colosseums update, which was added to the game in free post-launch updates, was set to be part of the two expansions, and according to MacDonald, this update featured massive content that was cut out, after FromSoftware eventually decided to focus on developing an expansion. A massive one, similar to what the developer did with 2015’s Bloodborne.
