Following the hints of Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon, rumors about Mortal Kombat 12 began circulating before any official announcement from Netherrealm Studios.
The other day, Boon posted a short video of a ticking clock on Twitter counting down to something, which he believes to be Mortal Kombat 12. The clock ticks almost twelve before a missile explodes in front of it, landing on the number “1.”
Today billbil_kun’s Twitter account claims that the upcoming fighting game is titled Mortal Kombat 1, which makes the number “1” in Boon’s video seem even more logical.
As you may notice, the game will be available for Next-Gen consoles only (while including Nintendo Switch).
Comes in 3 editions:
– standard
Premium
– Kollector’s Edition (Physical only, not available for Nintendo Switch)Announcement should be close

“The next Mortal Kombat game from NetherRealm Studios/WB Games will be called: Mortal Kombat 1,” the leaker said on Twitter, revealing the game’s different versions and target devices below:
- PC, PS5, Xbox Series S|X, Nintendo Switch
- Standard: $69.99 (PS5, XB) / $59.99 (SW)
- Premium: $109.99
- Kollector’s: $249.99 (PS5, XB)
The tweet also indicated that an official announcement “should be soon”, and that the game is intended for the current generation of consoles. There’s no Kollector version available for Switch either, and the expensive bundle will only have a store version.
It seems that the name Mortal Kombat 1 means that the game will be a different re-introduction of the series, but nothing is confirmed until now.
