Water was seeping from the ceiling as Rubén Amorim gave his post-match press conference.
Fresh off a spectacular comeback win over Man City and a spirited performance against Spurs in the midweek EFL Cup, United put in a dismal performance against Bournemouth on Sunday.
Andoni Iraola’s side dominated the match at Old Trafford, with goals from Dean Huijsen and Antoine Semenyo along with a Justin Kluivert penalty securing a comfortable victory for the visitors.
Speaking after the match, Amorim lamented his team’s “nervous” performance and insisted they “will have to suffer again” as their ambitious rebuild continues.
However, the club’s on-field struggles may not be the only problem Amorim must deal with as he attempts to return United to their former glory.
A clip shared by Samuel Luckhurst on social media showed water appearing to leak through the ceiling as the Portuguese held his post-match press conference.
The incident comes just months after urgent repair works were carried out at Old Trafford following the club’s defeat to Arsenal.
At the end of the game, a strong storm flooded the 114-year-old stadium, where water could be seen coming from one of the corners of the field.
Videos on social media showed flooding under the seats and even where the players’ tunnel joins the locker room.
United said 1.6 inches of rain fell in two hours after the final whistle, but supporters of both clubs left the stadium safely.
