Princess Eugenie has been praised for “moving on” as she reveals she made a secret visit to a charity last Monday.
Princess Eugenie has said she is “grateful” to have made a secret stop at the Salvation Army last week to meet survivors of modern slavery, and royal admirers have praised her for her dedication to her work.
The 34-year-old, co-founder of the Anti-Slavery Collective, wore a low-key outfit in a khaki bomber jacket and black leggings while visiting the Salvation Army headquarters in south London on Monday, September 30.
Recounting her visit on Instagram, the princess said: “Listening to the survivors and hearing their stories makes this work seem as urgent and important as ever.”
“It also reminds me why Jules and I founded The Anti-Slavery Collective in the first place.”
Together with Julia de Boinville, Eugenie founded the Anti-Slavery Collective in 2017 with the mission to “eradicate modern slavery for some 50 million people.”

The Collective works with policymakers, businesses and survivors “to collaboratively develop solutions to fight modern slavery and human trafficking” through its three pillars: awareness, education and responsible business.
During last Monday’s visit, Eugenie was joined by Hewlett Packard Chief Legal and Operations Officer John Schultz, a board member of the Anti-Slavery Collective.
Eugenie continued in her Instagram post: ‘The Salvation Army does incredible work supporting survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking.
“They provide specialist support to protect and care for all adult survivors of modern slavery in England and Wales through a government contract which was first awarded in 2011.”
In the comments, one keen royal watcher wrote: “The Salvation Army is amazing and so are you.”
Another said: ‘She moves on without everything focusing on her.’ Well done.’
It’s no surprise that Princess Eugenie, an ambassador for the Blue Marine Foundation since 2021, is environmentally conscious when it comes to fashion choices.
It appears that the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York has worn the khaki jacket that was on display at the Salvation Army before, namely during the Invictus Games in September 2014.
Eugenia attended the closing concert wearing a military-style jacket to support her cousin, Prince Harry, more than ten years ago.

Princess Eugenie is no stranger to the Salvation Army, having publicly supported the charity since 2020 and visiting its various safe houses in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
“I was so grateful to be invited back to The Salvation Army headquarters last Monday,” she said on Instagram today.
Royalty has always associated with survivors of modern slavery in more informal settings. Until now she has participated in art classes and singing sessions.
Last week’s visit comes after Princess Eugenie congratulated her sister, Princess Beatrice, after the news of her pregnancy was announced.
The late Queen’s granddaughter, 36, and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 40, who already share three-year-old daughter Sienna, are preparing to welcome a new addition to their family in 2025.
Eugenie, using the affectionate nickname for her older sister, wrote on her Instagram account: ‘Congratulations Beabea.
‘So I’m looking forward to more on this journey of motherhood together. And adding another little one to the gang.
Posting a sweet selection of family photos, she added: ‘I couldn’t find a single group photo of us. So this Christmas of 2022 will have to be enough. Xxxx.’
