Royal fans have been ‘sobbing with joy’ as they send their support to Princess Kate following her announcement that she has finished chemotherapy.
To the delight of millions, the Princess of Wales revealed today that she has completed her “preventative chemotherapy” treatment and plans to undertake a “light programme” of public engagements over the coming months.
However, she cautions that “doing what I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus” and admits that the past nine months have been a “scary and unpredictable” time for her family.
Thousands of people have responded online to congratulate the mother of three and wish her a full recovery in the coming months.

The princess’s personal message to the nation is accompanied by a stunning three-minute video showing her and William in Norfolk with their three children.

The experience, Catherine says, has reminded her and her husband, Prince William, to “reflect and be grateful for the simple but important things in life, which many of us often take for granted. The simple fact of loving and being loved.”
The emotional message to the nation was accompanied by a stunning three-minute video showing her and William in Norfolk with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, filmed last month.

Kate also ended her video with a deeply emotional and touching message for other cancer patients and their families: “To all those who continue their own journey against cancer, I stand with you, arm in arm, hand in hand. Out of darkness can come light, so let that light shine brightly.”
Her schedule will be “light” but is likely to include Remembrance Sunday at the Cenotaph and other events around it, as the Daily Mail has revealed.
They are likely to be announced only at the last minute as they will depend on when Her Royal Highness feels able to carry them out, with sources repeatedly stressing that “every cancer journey is different”.
She will not accompany Prince William to the Earthshot Prize awards in Cape Town in November, stressing she wanted to remain in the UK to support her young family for whom the year has also been difficult.

Catherine spoke of her ‘relief’ at the end of her chemotherapy programme
The new video of the princess and her family, a deeply personal and unprecedented piece of material, was filmed in Norfolk by one of her favourite filmmakers, Will Warr.
The setting of the footage is deeply symbolic and draws on the strength Catherine has gained from her family and loved ones and from spending time on the things that bring her joy, particularly the sanctuary she has found in the natural world.
Also featured are her parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, who have been an unwavering source of support.
Catherine announced publicly five months ago that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing “preventive” chemotherapy.
“I am doing well and I am getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; my mind, body and spirit,” she said at the time, in a highly emotional and unprecedented video message.
The message followed Catherine’s major abdominal surgery in January, where she spent two weeks at the London Clinic in Marylebone.
