According to a royal expert, Prince William could change his stance on inviting Prince Harry to his coronation. Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond suggests that over time, the Prince of Wales could develop a “soft spot” for his estranged brother and potentially put an end to their long-standing rift. In a major claim, Bond shared that while the current rift between the brothers seems deep, time may heal their relationship, leading to a possible reunion.
In an interview with OK! MagazineBond shared his views on the strained relationship between the royal brothers, particularly in light of reports suggesting a reconciliation might only happen at the funeral of their father, King Charles. “I agree that the gap between William and Harry seems unbridgeable,” he said. “I don’t think William would waste any of his life thinking about his brother, although we know Harry has said he would like to have some sort of reconciliation.”
Although Bond acknowledged that William was unlikely to invite Harry to his coronation at this stage, he did offer a glimmer of hope for the Duke of Sussex. “You can only go to a coronation if you are invited and, at this stage, I suspect that Harry would not be invited.” Bond statedHowever, he added, “I hope that day is a long way off, and William’s attitude may have softened a bit by then,” although he warned against being too optimistic.
Bond also highlighted other pressing matters currently occupying William’s mind, including his responsibilities as Prince of Wales, his wife Kate Middleton and his father’s ongoing health battles. “William has too many things to worry about at the moment – his father’s illness, his wife’s illness and three young children to raise. Not to mention his important role as Prince of Wales,” he noted.
