A royal expert has made a shocking claim about the relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry, claiming that the idea that the brothers had a close bond before Megxit was a “myth.” Richard Fitzgerald, a royal commentator, revealed that Harry had been “very unhappy” living within the royal family long before Meghan Markle came into his life.
As reported by GB News, Fitzgerald explained that Harry’s decision to step back as a royal in 2020 had been influenced by his discontent with life in the family, not just Meghan’s struggles to adapt to royal life. “Harry was very unhappy,” Fitzgerald said. “If you read Replacement“It’s clear that her relationship with William is not what we thought.”
Fitzgerald went on to say, “Inseparable brothers were a myth.” This statement challenges the long-standing public perception of Harry and William as the close-knit and supportive brothers they once appeared to be.
Since stepping away from royal duties, Harry and Meghan have been vocal about the challenges they faced within the royal family, but according to Fitzgerald, their struggles went beyond just their treatment by the press.
“They felt that they were being informed against them” Fitzwilliams said. “In my opinion, the world should not have been told this in that way.” He added that while Harry and Meghan’s discontent was made public, it was unclear whether any mentoring or guidance from the royal family would have changed the course of events.
Fitzwilliams also noted that Meghan’s brief tenure as a royal may have been a factor in her decision to leave. “Meghan only lasted about a year and a half as a senior royal before they indicated they were unhappy,” he said.
He attributed some of Meghan’s discontent to her background and her desire for a celebrity life. “The fact that she was so used to the red carpet and the public made her and Harry think they would be perfect for the role. Of course, he was deeply unhappy,” Fitzwilliams added.
In Fitzgerald’s view, while Meghan may have provided an “out” for Harry, it was their shared unhappiness within the royal family that led to their dramatic exit.
