This is Royal Caribbean’s epic new cruise ship, which will be the largest in the world at launch in 2022.

The vessel, dubbed Wonder of the Seas, will be headquartered in Shanghai, China, and will feature an 82ft (25m) long, 10-deck-high zipline and Ultimate Abyss – the highest slide at sea with a height of 10 stories. .

It is currently under construction in Saint-Nazaire, France, and is 362 meters long, 64 meters wide and weighs 236,857 tonnes. It will have a total of 18 decks, will have 2,867 staterooms and accommodate up to 6,988 guests.

Royal Caribbean says the Oasis-class ship will have “the signature amenities that the world’s largest and unparalleled ships are known for since they first revolutionized more than a decade ago, including the unique neighborhood concept.”

Wonder of the Seas has eight neighborhoods for guests to explore.

The Central Park area will be ‘the first living park at sea, boasting more than 20,000 plants – not to mention some of the fleet’s most coveted specialty restaurants and luxury boutiques’.

Boardwalk will be a stretch at the end of the ship with two climbing walls, a classic carousel and an ‘open air AquaTheater’.

The Pool & Sports Zone will be home to the zipline and Ultimate Abyss slide, as well as swimming pools, hot tubs and a FlowRider surf simulator. There will also be basketball and volleyball courts and a mini golf course.

The Entertainment Place neighborhood is where ‘world-class performers light the stage night after night in headline shows and original productions at the Royal Theater’.

Meanwhile, the Royal Promenade will become the ‘beating heart of the ship, where shops, restaurants and nightlife come together’.

The ship will also have a Vitality Spa and Fitness Center, a youth zone with a nursery for babies and toddlers, and a special area for teenagers.

The last neighborhood is the new Suite Neighborhood, which is for suite guests only.

Royal Caribbean explains: ‘The new neighborhood offers a unique private experience, with world-class dining, a new sundeck for unparalleled ocean views, a private lounge and restaurant and much more.

“Plus, loved ones can have the vacation of a lifetime when they book the extensive and beloved Ultimate Family Suite.”

Wonder of the Seas will arrive in Shanghai in March 2022 and will be the first four to nine night seasonal cruises across the Far East now open for bookings.

Royal Caribbean says, “On the horizon for vacationers with their hopes for an outing aboard Wonder are visits to popular destinations in Asia. Between March and November 2022, guests can take a cruise from Shanghai to Japan, where they can immerse themselves in the local sights and sounds.

From pleasing their taste buds in Osaka, to exploring the country’s oldest official residence in Fukuoka, to tasting the best beef in Kobe and enjoying the natural scenery of Okinawa’s islands, all senses can be fulfilled at these culturally rich routes.

The combination of ports of call to choose from also includes Tokyo, Mount Fuji, Kumamoto, Kagoshima, Ishigaki and Miyazaki, Japan.

Wonder will transition to warmer climates and to its homeport in Hong Kong, November 2022 through January 2023, to offer highly anticipated Christmas and New Year holidays to various ports of call.

Part of the destination line-up is Chan May, Vietnam; Busan and Jeju, South Korea; Kochi and Okinawa, Japan; and Taipei, China. ‘

Currently the world’s largest cruise ship is Symphony of the Seas – another ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet.

It also has 18 decks, is 1,118 ft. Long, 215.5 ft. Wide, weighs 228,000 tons and can accommodate 6,680 guests.

Launched in 2018, the vessel is currently in Miami and operates routes around the Caribbean.
