Prince Harry is not “ready to write another book” after “damaging his relationship with the king” by attacking Queen Camilla in his memoir Spare, a royal expert has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex, 39, previously revealed he had enough material to publish a second story and had deleted almost half of the material he had written in a first draft for Spare.

But Majesty Magazine editor Ingrid Seward said 9 Honey that she thinks the father-of-two is not working on another memoir, saying: “I can’t see Harry being ready to write another book.”

The author, whose latest book My Mother and I centers on King Charles III’s relationship with the late Queen Elizabeth II, highlighted Spare’s impact on the prince’s bond with his father.

She said: “I think the fact that he criticized his wife so openly certainly damaged his relationship with his father.

“But you know, Charles has such a busy life, so much going on, I don’t think he’s mad at Harry, I just think he’s withdrawn from Harry.

Ingrid added: “He was very stupid to criticize Camilla, it was really stupid because he didn’t have to, it didn’t make the book any better.”

The Sussexes have reportedly signed a four-book deal worth more than £16 million ($20 million) with publishing giant Penguin Random House.

In his first book Spare, the Duke, who has estranged from his father and brother Prince William since leaving royal life, claimed his stepmother leaked stories about the royal family to the media to strengthen its image.

He also called her “dangerous” and “evil” and claimed she “sacrificed” him to improve her reputation.

Charles was reportedly “disappointed” by his son’s depiction of Camilla in his book, according to a November Telegraph article.

In the memoir, published in January 2023, Harry wrote of Camilla: “I have complex feelings about having a stepparent who I thought had recently sacrificed me on his relationship altar public personal.

Harry also said that he and his brother Prince William “begged” their father, then Prince Charles, not to marry Camilla because they feared she would become their “evil stepmother.”

In another blow, Harry described Camilla as “dangerous” and a “villain” who left “bodies in the street” in her desire to change the public’s perception of her.

In a television interview to promote the book last January with Anderson Cooper on CBS News’ 60 Minutes, Harry expanded on his claims.

The Duke said: “She was a third person in their (my parents’) marriage, she needed to rehabilitate her image. This made her dangerous because of the connections she made within the British press.

“Because of the connections she was making… there was an open willingness on both sides to exchange information.

“And with a family built on hierarchy, and with her on her way to becoming queen consort, there would be people or bodies left in the streets because of that.”

Fiona Shelburne, Camilla’s close friend Lady Lansdowne, also told the newspaper: “Of course it bothers her, of course it hurts.

“But she doesn’t let it get to her. His philosophy is always: ‘Don’t make it a thing and everything will work out – the least said, the quickest fixed.’

Meanwhile, last year the Duke said The telegraph he chose to leave out several of Spare’s bombs because he feared his father and brother would “never forgive” him.

“The first draft was different. It was 800 pages, and now it’s only 400. It could have been two books, to put it that way. And the hardest part was getting things out.

“There are certain things that happened, particularly between me and my brother, and to some extent between me and my father, that I just don’t want the world to know. Because I don’t think they would forgive me one day.

Harry said he knew including details about intimate moments with his family would lead to backlash, but ultimately decided he couldn’t honestly tell his story without them.

There were, however, details that he knew would cross the line. These memories were shared with ghostwriter JR Moehringer for context only and did not make it into the final cut.
