Firefighters worked for almost an hour to free a huge rottweiler from a cat flap after its head became stuck.
‘Hank the Tank’ was pictured looking sheepish by firefighters as he became trapped on the doorstep of his home in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, at around 1.25pm on Thursday.
Posting the image on X, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: “A crew rescued Hank the tank from a cat flap. One happy customer.”
It took 40 minutes to free the large dog using small tools.

It’s not uncommon for dogs to get trapped in their feline friends’ doors; in 2019, a panicked dog owner called 999 when her pet Labrador got a cat flap stuck around its neck after hitting its head against it.
Phil Michell, 57, from Bampton, Devon, felt he had no option but to call emergency services for help after two-year-old Luis got his head stuck in the cat flap of his bungalow, ripping it off the door.
She said the plastic flap was stuck around Luis the Labrador’s neck so tightly that she couldn’t free her pet.

He had no choice but to take the dog to the local fire station, where a firefighter used a saw to remove the plastic cover.
Mr Michell said: ‘We had a visit from the council and we were on the porch talking.
‘The next thing we knew, we looked down and saw Luis poking his head out from under his lapel.
‘We kept talking when he must have stuck his head in too far. He ripped the entire cat flap off the door when he tried to get out.
‘We tried to help him get it out, but there was no way. It was stuck.
“I didn’t know what else to do, so I called 999 and asked to speak to the fire brigade.”
In 2020, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Jock also tried to get through the cat flap at his home in Northallerton.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue took Jock to the vets where he was sedated and released.

Firefighters said: ‘We have just been out to help Jock the English Staffordshire bulldog who had managed to get his head stuck in a cat flap.
‘Luckily, the cat flap was not fitted tightly to the door, otherwise his embarrassment would have been greater.
‘Jock was sedated by a vet and released unharmed.’
