Police are searching for a mysterious man after a teen reported being sexually assaulted by him on a popular beach on New Year’s Eve.
The woman was lying on a beach towel on a beach in Thompson Bay, on Rottnest Island off the coast of Perth, Western Australia, on December 31.
Police say the teenage girl was assaulted by an unknown man between 10:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on the crowded beach.

The teen was wearing a black bikini with a white sundress over it at the time of the alleged attack and was sitting just north of the ferry dock.
Police say “many” people were in the area at the time, as crowds gathered in the New Year on the scenic beach.
They want to speak to anyone who remembers seeing a woman or man acting suspiciously in the area on December 31st.
