Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch put on a peculiar display as they jumped through the streets of Devon while filming their new Netflix hit.

The two British acting titans were spotted on North Sands Beach in Salcombe, Devon, filming The Roses, a Netflix remake of the 1989 film The War of the Roses.

Olivia, 50, appeared in high spirits as she threw her arms in the air while wearing a red silk shirt that detailed blue flowers and bananas.

Meanwhile, Sherlock star Benedict, 47, rocked a new look with curly bangs full of caramel highlights.

The pair were seen performing a scene set in a seaside cafe, We’ve Got Crabs.

Benedict was looking sad outside the seafood bistro when they saw Olivia fleeing the establishment and getting into a dirty BMW.

The synopsis reads: “Life seems easy for the perfect couple Theo (Benedict) and Ivy (Olivia): successful careers, fantastic children, an enviable sex life.

“But beneath the facade of the perfect family is a powder keg of competition and resentment that flares up when Theo’s career dreams come crashing down.”

Like the previous on-screen version, this new film will once again be based on Warren Adler’s 1981 novel, while it will be adapted by Tony McNamara.

Benedict will also produce the film through his company SunnyMarch, along with Olivia and his South of the River Productions partners Ed Sinclair and Tom Carver.

“The Roses is a tremendously funny story, larger than life and yet deeply human,” said Searchlight president Matthew Greenfield.

“With Jay at the helm, Benedict, Olivia and Tony, we have a dream team making it happen,” he added.

The original film version starred Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner and was directed by Danny DeVito.

Her appearance in the southern county comes just weeks after Benedict lifted the lid on her wild karaoke night with friends Olivia, Amy Adams and Melissa McCarthy following the 2019 BAFTAs.

It gave fans a taste of what happens at award shows after the star-studded parties.

Speaking to Zoe Ball on Radio 2 in May, Benedict shared that there was a lively karaoke gathering after Olivia won the 2019 BAFTA for Best Actress for The Favorite.

He also revealed that Bridesmaids star Melissa, 53, was on his case for giving a good performance on the microphone; She joked that she would “kill him” if she ended up being a good singer.

I went up to Melissa McCarthy and I said, “I’m really not very good” and she said, “If you are, IF YOU’RE GOOD I’m going to kill you,” she laughed. “I said, ‘I’m not, and I am.’ All these people are terrified.”

Benedict said the epic karaoke session occurred after his friend Olivia collected the grand prize, which he was watching in bed on TV.

He said, “I was in my pajamas and they called me and said, ‘Where are you?’ and I was like, ‘Ahh, okay,’ and I literally put my clothes on and went out and ended up in a basement somewhere, I think in a hotel in Soho that was hosting an after party and there was great karaoke, which Olivia loves and that cast of that brilliant film love.

‘And there was an incredible group of people there. We were all lined up, we all had to play a song.

“I was like, ‘Oh God, am I doing this? I mean, did I just wake up? Okay, okay’ – Young Americans (David Bowie) on.”

But just before Benedict’s turn, he said, there was Enchanted star Amy, 49, whose career began in musical theater.

“Obviously, I completely forgot that she started in that world,” Benedict said of Amy’s karaoke performance. ‘And then it was my turn and I… (laughs) and I thought, “God, I really have to try this.”

“Melissa McCarthy was standing next to a pillar saying, ‘I’m going to kill you. I’m going to kill you’ because I gave it my all.”
