Rose McGowan has accused Bill Maher of whispering a crude comment about his genitals when she appeared on his show in the late 1990s.
The actress responded to the TV presenter after Friday night telling Real Time With Bill Maher viewers to ignore Joe Biden, the sexual assault sexual assault Tara Reade, for claiming there was not enough evidence of misconduct when she was decades ago worked for the then senator.
McGowan, who was a vocal activist in the Me Too movement and accused Harvey Weinstein of rape, addressed the 64-year-old Maher in a tweet on Saturday.
“Here’s a memory I want to share with you,” McGowan started. “I bet you don’t remember, but I’m sure. I was so excited to be at your show and bend my mind instead of my face. This is what happened. All I can say, Bill, you have the face you deserved. ‘

McGowan wrote, “You leaned over to me & [sic] whispered in my ear, “my parents didn’t give me a good face, but they gave me a huge c ** k” “
McGowan added in a direct tweet to Maher, “All I can say, Bill, you have the face you deserved.”
Beneath her post was a draft of a tweet seemingly addressing her appearance on Maher’s show, which was airing on ABC at the time.
Other guests on the April 2000 episode included David Arquette, wrestler Diamond Dallas Page, actor Scott Caan and boxing announcer Michael Buffer.
“I was politically incorrect in your show in the late 90s – when the show returned from a commercial break, you leaned over and whispered in my ear,” my parents didn’t give me a good face, but they did give me a huge c ** k, ” wrote McGowan, 46.
“I felt your hot breath in my ear when an image of both your hideous face and supposed big bastard came to mind. Both turned my stomach. I always wondered what you say and do to the girls who are not famous. ‘
On his HBO show this week, Maher commented that the situation boiled down to “he said, she said.”
“She says Biden attacked her and he says no. Those are their positions. What about yours: Don’t know, never will, I don’t care, “Maher said during the monologue.

Maher also said, “Just because Fox News is obsessed with Biden’s sex abuse claims doesn’t mean the rest of us should be too.”
“What the hell is there?” Maher continued. “We’re going to let this person change the subject of Donald Trump, deadly incompetent, to Joe Biden, sex monster?”
Although Maher made it a point to say that he had “understood” Reade for years to make allegations – because “it may take years for victims to come forward” – he wondered why she came forward at this very moment.
“You’ve been waiting 27 years, can’t it be a few more months?” he said.
“I’m saying why not before Super Tuesday?” Maher said he wanted to ask Reade. “Why not last fall, when we had a dozen other candidates to choose from? Why wait until Biden is our only hope against Trump and then take him down? ‘
In the episode Let’s Go There with Shira and Ryan this week, McGowan criticized the media for not publishing the story.
“I relentlessly went after the New York Times, which started about four weeks ago, because I was in Tara Reade’s Interview,” McGowan said. They interviewed Tara Reade, Joe Biden’s prosecutor, a year ago. They sat on it for a year and then they finally waited until he was in fact the suspected nominee to release it, so everyone could say “Why was she waiting so far?”
McGowan said Reade chose not to report the allegations.
“She didn’t do that. She was a woman not famous like me. She had no access to microphones, “McGowan told the Channel Q hosts. “She has been a lifelong democrat.”
