Actress Rosario Dawson helped kick off the first day of LA Comic Con, which takes place at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
The event has been marketed as three days of comics, gaming, cosplay, anime and pop culture, according to its website.
The Rent star had a meet-and-greet with her fans, where she signed autographs and posed for photos before moving on to the next event.
The actress then took the stage as part of Spotlight On: Rosario Dawson, where she talked about some of her biggest and most impactful roles, and what they’ve meant to her and her fans over the years.
Among the most beloved characters she has played are Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian and Ahsoka, as well as Claire Temple in Daredevil and Luke Cage.
Rosario Dawson, 45, was one of the featured stars on the first day of Los Angeles Comic Con on Friday, October 4, where she participated in Spotlight On: Rosario Dawson.
The character of Ahsoka has long appeared in the Star Wars universe, first appearing in the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008), followed by several animated television shows.
All of this happened before Dawson took on the role for the first time in the second season of the hit series The Mandalorian (2020), which is the creation of Jon Favreau.
“I remember meeting our Princess Leia, our Carrie Fisher, at a convention in Chicago, and seeing what the fans were like with her, and you know, I had done some readings with Mark Hamill,” the New York City native shared while on stage, according to WPVI TV.
“Being able to use the force and be in this space where I can legitimately and officially say ‘May the force be with you.’ I remember watching The Mandalorian episode with my mom and I said it at the end, and my mom literally liked it.” this slow turn of my head from the screen to my face, and I had tears in my eyes,” he explained.
Dawson continued to share more stories from her long relationship with Star Wars as a fan and as a performer.
“I literally just took a picture of my grandson next to R2-D2 and C-3PO with this whole sticker that was all over the mural wall, saying, ‘The force is strong with this one.’ And I was like, ‘The force is strong with this one.'” “It’s coming full circle, guys! It’s lovely”.
The actress has also played the intrepid nurse Claire Temple in several Marvel television series, including Daredevil (2015-2016), Jessica Jones (2015), Luke Cage (2016-2018), Iron Fist (2017) and The Defenders ( 2017).
“I think one of my favorite things about playing Claire was how many nurses and people in the healthcare field reached out to me,” she told the fascinated audience.
The New York City native looked her usual style in a cropped black leather jacket over a dress and matching hat as she took the stage.

The actress talked about playing beloved characters like Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian and Ahsoka, as well as Claire Temple in Daredevil and Luke Cage, among others.
Dawson then shared how she ended up befriending a fan who works as a night nurse.
“I just remember how much it meant to him to have that kind of elevated character, and on so many different shows, and to show how heroic and necessary his contribution was, not only to keep these other heroes safe, but to protect them.” “Overall,” she said of the added benefit of playing a character like Claire Temple.
