Turns out Twitter Spaces isn’t the best place to make a major announcement.
Ron DeSantis learned this the hard way on Wednesday night, when the Florida governor was due to kick off his presidential campaign during a live audio call with Elon Musk on Twitter Spaces.
More than 20 minutes after the call was supposed to start, DeSantis couldn’t even speak because the live audio room crashed repeatedly and showed reverberating audio, which Musk said was due to Twitter’s servers being overloaded by the number of listeners in the room. .
The Space seemed to break down after 21 minutes, and a recorded version of the conversation that went unnoticed, 347,000 users tuned in.
More to come.
