Romania have once again shown their class after their players and staff were seen applauding hotel staff following their elimination from Euro 2024.
The team, ranked 47th in FIFA’s rankings, crashed out of the competition with a 3-0 defeat to the Netherlands on Tuesday night before being praised for how they emerged from the dressing room.
It was their best performance at a major international tournament in 24 years, as they had not reached the knockout stage of any competition since the quarter-finals of Euro 2000.
Edward Iordanescu’s side topped their group and advanced to the last 16, and players and fans alike are clearly delighted with their time in Germany.
To show their appreciation, Iordanescu and his team applauded the staff at the Melchior Park Hotel in Würzburg.
Romania has been praised after applauding hotel staff as they left for the airport.

Manager Edward Iordanescu came over and shook hands with all the hotel staff.
In a video that appeared on XThe entire team, including staff, could be seen standing and applauding the hotel workers.
After the applause ended, Manager Iordanescu walked around the room and shook hands with each staff member, as another token of his appreciation.
The incident comes shortly after fans praised Romania when footage of them leaving the dressing room following their Euro 2024 exit went viral.
Pictures on social media show Romania leaving their locker room spotless, while also leaving a letter for German organisers.
The letter read: ‘EURO 2024 has been one of the most important footballing experiences we have had so far for each of us and we are pleased that the venue in which it took place was Germany.
‘Every match, every emotion, every experience brought us together and made us feel the magic of football.
‘We leave Germany with the feeling of having given everything for Romania and we are grateful for everything we experienced during the weeks we spent here.

The team also left a letter to thank hosts Germany saying they are “grateful for everything they have experienced” during the tournament.

UEFA also paid tribute to Romania by sharing the photos with the caption: ‘The perfect guests. Following their elimination from Euro 2024 last night, Romania left their team at the last minute. The Munich dressing room is immaculate and sends an emotional letter to their German hosts.
A spirited Romania side were eliminated from the tournament after a goal from Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo and a brace from Donyell Malen in the round of 16.
