The young son of a rodeo star woke up in the hospital three days after he nearly drowned playing on his property.

Three-year-old Levi Wright drove his toy tractor into a river around 6 p.m. Tuesday at his home in Milford, Utah, and disappeared underwater.

Levi’s mother jumped in to save him and then rushed him to the hospital, where doctors restored his heartbeat, but he never regained consciousness.

However, before long, Levi began to show signs of progress and tests were scheduled for the weekend to evaluate his brain function.

Then on Thursday night, Levi woke up, according to his mother Kallie Wright, who is at his bedside at Salt Lake City Hospital with her husband Spencer.

LEVI WOKE UP! I’m shocked, we don’t know much, but the doctor said it was okay for me to be emotional about it, and I AM! My baby is so tough!’ she wrote.

‘He got a little wild so we had to calm him down again, but my heart!’

Kallie added a few hours earlier that Levi was scheduled for an MRI on Friday, which would provide more details about his condition.

Family friend Mindy Sue Clark said Levi’s EEG monitor showed activity when his sister Steeley called him via video conference Thursday afternoon.

“The same thing happened when we played him dinosaur sounds from one of his favorite dinosaur books, and then when Kallie gave him kisses,” he wrote.

Spencer Wright’s family is among the most notable in rodeo history and his father, Bill Wright, was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame.

Spencer is ranked 35th in the world and his brothers are also renowned athletes in the sport.

Clark said Wednesday that the family “received multiple small miracles” and doctors were “amazed by the progress he had made.”

“He has a fever so they keep him very cold, which is hard to watch. I can hear him say, ‘Mommy, I’m pretty cold,'” she wrote.

‘They are doing an EEG to monitor any brain activity and we still haven’t heard much about what they are seeing. He has also been prescribed antibiotics.

‘We miss our other babies, mom hasn’t spent a night away from the baby so far, but Brae and Steeley are in the best of hands!

‘The doctors and staff here at the primaries have been exceptional! We don’t know what the future holds, don’t let the prayers for my baby fade or her story become old news! Keep praying for him.’

As Levi drove toward the river, the 911 caller frantically told the dispatcher that they couldn’t see him under the swift currents.

Kallie realized he had slipped away and ran to the river, and jumped into the currents to save him, and her friend said that she “was the one who found him, she pulled him out.”

On Tuesday, the family said Levi's heart

On Tuesday, the family said Levi’s heart was “beating on its own,” but he showed no signs of rehabilitation.

A large response from rescue crews from the Beaver County Sheriff’s Office, Utah Highway Patrol, Beaver County Search and Rescue and Beaver Firefighters quickly arrived on scene.

Crews made life-saving efforts before an ambulance took him to Beaver County Hospital, and he was then flown by helicopter to Salt Lake City.

clark said ABC4 at the time he was being treated at Salt Lake City Hospital, but unless he made a dramatic recovery, he was not expected to survive.

“He wants to breathe, but his sweet little brain has been without oxygen for too long and there is no turning back,” the family said.

‘We held him all night and felt strongly that his spirit was no longer with us. We can’t be selfish and drag this out for days, he doesn’t deserve this.

‘We will soon stop worrying and keep him close until his last breath on earth. My baby, my beans, mom and dad love you always and forever!’

Clark previously said Fox13Now that after Levi was admitted to the hospital, his uncle had been tickling his feet for a response, prompting him to “open his eyes a couple of times”, however, he did not recover further.

“Even though Levi is such a sweet, good-hearted kid, he’s a kid through and through, he’s a cowboy through and through, he’s a Wright through and through,” he said at the time.

Clark described Levi as “the sweetest, kindest kid,” adding, “He’ll tell you he’s a T-Rex and he’s as strong as a T-Rex.”

ProRodeo CEO Tom Glause said in a statement: “The entire ProRodeo community is heartbroken for the Wright family.” “We will continue to keep them in our thoughts and prayers.”
