Veteran Australian television producer Robin Eastwood died earlier this week aged 62, following a short illness.
The beloved industry veteran had over 30 years of experience in showbiz and produced a number of popular TV shows including SBS’s Who Do You Think You Are? and Every Family Has A Secret.
Production company Artemis Media announced the news on social media on Tuesday.
“We are devastated by the passing of Robin Eastwood, a much loved and admired member of the Artemis Media family,” they wrote in a statement.
‘Robin has been a force in our industry. We have had the privilege of working with her over the past 20 years on many series: Desperately Seeking Sheila, Who Do You Think You Are?, Monash and Me and Every Family Has a Secret.’
They praised Robin’s incredible work ethic and amazing mentorship for those starting out in the industry.
‘As a line producer and production manager, Robin set the standard by bringing professionalism and compassion to her work. Her teams felt cared for and supported, and she generously shared her knowledge through her mentorship.
“Robin was a loyal friend to many and will be greatly missed by all. Our thoughts are with her loving family.”

Screenwest of Western Australia also paid tribute to Eastwood, writing: “We are saddened to hear of Robin’s passing. We extend our condolences to Robin’s family, friends and colleagues.”
Meanwhile, many of his former teammates took to social media to post their own tributes.
“This is very disturbing. I always found her wonderful to work with,” wrote WDYTYA composer Ash Greig.
Cinematographer Ian Batt added: “This is very sad news. She was instrumental in the success of many projects I was involved in.”
After completing his studies at Monash University in Melbourne in the early 1980s, Eastwood began working in Japan and represented the Australian Tourism Commission in Tokyo for a two-year period.
Eastwood later began his media career in Australia in 1987, when he provided media coordination services for Japanese productions filmed in Australia.
