The lawyer, 44, got emotional live on air as he detailed the tragic loss of his French Bulldog Rocco, who passed away suddenly last week.

And he was comforted by his co-host Susanna Reid, who offered her support and put a caring hand on his arm.

“There’s nothing like the deep joy of coming home and someone who is completely full of boundless joy just to see you. No one wishes you that.’

He also reached out to viewers who may have experienced something similar, continuing, “It’s that connection to pets, animals in general really, that so many people feel.

“And I have to say to anyone who’s lost a pet and it’s real grief, I hear you.”
