Robert Lewandowski has reportedly told his agent that he should move to Real Madrid next summer.

According to Spain’s AS, Lewandowski’s agent Pini Zahavi has been told by the Bayern Munich attacker that a move to the Spanish giants should be considered ‘a priority’.

But the publication adds that Lewandowski’s desire to play for Madrid will depend on their interest in Erling Haaland at Borussia Dortmund.

Haaland is also expected to be on the move in the summer and his suggested £64m release clause has put all of Europe’s heavyweights on edge.

Lewandowski is hopeful, however, as his agent Zahavi also represents David Alaba – who left Bayern for Madrid last summer.

Earlier this week, Lewandowski controversially missed winning his first Ballon d’Or title over Lionel Messi.

In his acceptance speech on Monday, Messi paid tribute to the Bayern Munich star – who won the striker of the year – and said he deserved to win the demolished 2020 Ballon d’Or.

“Robert, you deserve your Ballon d’Or,” Messi said. ‘Last year everyone agreed that you were the big winner of this award.

“Hopefully France Football will give you the Ballon d’Or 2020. We all think you deserve it and I hope you can have it.”

Lewandowski was merciful in the defeat, saying on Twitter: “Congratulations Leo Messi.

Congratulations to all nominated players! I have won the Striker of the Year Award and no player can win an individual award without the strongest team and loyal fans behind him. Thank you for your support.’
