Robert Irwin has revealed his shock new career move just weeks after scoring a landmark nomination for the prestigious Gold Logie award.

The 20-year-old conservationist has been making waves on screen since his debut as a TV presenter on I’m A Celebrity Australia and made history as the youngest star to earn a Gold Logie nomination.

However, he has now revealed his unlikely new career move away from television as he has expanded his career as a product influencer, fronting a new campaign.

The presenter took to Instagram on Monday to share images of himself starring in a new campaign for meal prep delivery service HelloFresh.

In the paid promotion, Robert is shown chatting to some of the animals at Australia Zoo in Queensland while promoting the service.

Robert, who recently received criticism for not being vegan despite being a conservationist, detailed how you can “add fish to a vegetarian plate” with just one change to your eating plans.

“HelloFresh has made planning family mealtimes as easy for us humans as it is for you,” Robert tells Albie the echidna.

He is then seen promoting the service while jokingly telling the zoo animals about the various benefits of subscribing to it.

She has joined forces with the likes of YouTuber Natalie Tran, NRL star Beau Ryan, Paralympian Dylan Alcott and comedian Ed Kavalee to front a campaign for Hello Fresh AU.

Many of Robert’s followers took to the comments section to express their amusement at the new announcement.

“The bloopers are gold!” wrote Robert’s mother Terri Irwin, with another fan adding: “Can all commercials be like this?”

His move into the world of advertising comes after it was reported that he is raking in a lot of money after signing several lucrative hosting contracts, each of which pays him hundreds of thousands of dollars.

He is one of Australia’s most sought-after talents and currently hosts Channel Ten’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia and is fronting a tourism campaign in Queensland.

“Robert can basically name whatever price he wants for his work at this point. His brand, both as a TV talent and as an advertising influencer, is in high demand,” an insider told New Idea magazine.

Robert was the “hot favourite” to win the Gold Logie at the 64th annual TV Week Logie Awards on 18 August, but lost out to Channel Seven presenter Larry Emdur.

The landmark nomination put him in the running for the night’s top award alongside a host of TV veterans, including his I’m A Celebrity co-host Julia Morris.

As well as her TV success, she is also moving more into advertising and earned $200,000 for appearing in a one-minute Twisties commercial, as well as a similar salary for appearing in a Queensland tourism campaign alongside Bluey.

She teamed up with drummer G Flip for the Twisties campaign in May, but not all fans were happy with the decision and many criticized the embarrassing announcement.

In the ad, Robert championed Twisties’ chicken flavor while G Flip opted for cheese in the ultimate battle.

But the light-hearted clip sparked backlash in the comments on the post that was shared on Robert’s Instagram page.

Some fans commented that they were surprised that Robert wasn’t vegan considering he is a wildlife conservationist.

“I’m honestly surprised you’re not vegan, or at least vegetarian @robertirwinphotography. Someone who loves and cares about animals like you should also care about animals in the meat industry,” one said.
