Robert Irwin rescues carpet python after it gets tangled around Coca-Cola bottles in vending machine: ‘It was a first for me’
Robert Irwin experienced a first in his career as a wildlife conservationist when he saved a python snake stuck in a vending machine.
The snake was bizarrely caught behind several Coca-Cola bottles in an outdoor vending machine.
Luckily, the late Steve “the Crocodile Hunter” Irwin’s 19-year-old son came to the rescue and safely freed the carpet python.
Posting to TikTok on Friday, the Wildlife Warrior documented his journey to help the snake out of the vending machine.
“I just got a call that there’s a carpet python stuck in a vending machine, so that’s a first,” Robert said while driving his truck.

Dressed in his Australia Zoo uniform, Robert pointed out where exactly the snake was hiding in the vending machine.
“What we don’t want is for him to go up the wiring,” he said as he hatched a plan to free the python.
“We need to get him up front, we don’t want to upset him too much because we want him to come out nice and smooth.”

It seemed that the speaker only needed a few seconds to free the snake.
As he held the slimy brown snake in his arms, Robert said, “That’s how you get a carpet python out of a vending machine.”
Although the Queensland native was excited to free the snake, he said it certainly wasn’t the first time the snake had found itself in uncomfortable positions.
“This guy obviously has a tendency to get caught in strange situations,” he said.
“Because he’s missing the tip of his tail, and it’s an old injury from a long time ago.”
Looking at the menacing snake, Robert added, “We’re going to move this guy and won’t go into any more vending machines, buddy.”
