Robert De Niro revealed he celebrated his daughter Gia’s first birthday by throwing a “sweet” party.
The 80-year-old actor welcomed his youngest son, whom he shares with girlfriend Tiffany Chen, in April last year, making him one of the oldest parents on record.
The Taxi Driver star recently spoke with Entertainment tonight and told the news outlet that her family hosted a celebration to commemorate her daughter’s special day last month.
De Niro recalled that his family gave Gia “a cupcake, it was very pretty, sweet.”
The Academy Award-winning artist spoke highly of his youngest daughter and talked about the positive impact she had had on his life.

“Well, she’s pure joy, there’s nothing in her, there’s no judgment, there’s nothing, she just is what she is and she’s pure joy, for God’s sake,” he said.
De Niro is the father of seven children, with his adopted daughter Drena, 51, being the eldest of his children.
He shares the filmmaker with his ex-wife Diahnne Abbott, with whom he welcomed his eldest son, Raphael, 47, in 1976.
The King of Comedy star then welcomed twin sons Julian and Aaron, 28, via surrogate in 1995, and shares them with model Toukie Smith.
The artist married Grace Hightower and they share a son and daughter named Elliot, 25, and Helen, 12.
De Niro has also become the father of four grandchildren, one of whom died last July, through his offspring.
The Goodfellas star opened up about fatherhood during an interview with The Guardianduring which she stated that she had learned to accept the uncertainty of raising children.
“It’s always good and mysterious and you don’t know what the hell is going to happen,” he said.

The Casino actor went on to express that he enjoyed the different aspects of parenting that come with having children of different ages.
‘With a baby it is different than with my 11-year-old son. My adult children. My grandchildren. It’s all different,’ she stated.
