Robbers hit man with hammers in Brooklyn robbery, fracturing his skull

Date:

A group of violent robbers beat one of their victims in Brooklyn with hammers, beating him until his skull was fractured and his spleen ruptured, police said Thursday.

The 36-year-old target was with a 26-year-old man on N. Seventh St. near Kent Ave. in Williamsburg when four men approached them around 11:30 p.m. Feb. 18, police said.

The attackers each pulled out a hammer and took the 26-year-old’s cell phone and car keys.

When an older man walked toward a pickup truck, the robbers stopped him and repeatedly hit him with construction tools, police said.

The victim received multiple blows to the head and body.

The robbers fled and the victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.

The young man was not injured in the robbery.

Police are still searching for the group of men and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
