Rob Mills wants to stage the revival of Australian Idol … after making a name for himself on the show’s first season of 2003

He became a household name after finishing fifth in Australian Idol’s first season of 2003.

And now Rob Mills wants to return to the series that made him famous, throw his hat in the ring for hosting duties in an interview with TV tonight.

“Wouldn’t it be great if there were an Australian Idol alumni to host a new series of Australian Idol?” the 38-year-old teased.

Channel 7 has announced that a revival of the hit reality TV series is slated for 2022, after Channel 10 made the decision in 2010 to “ rest ” the format amid poor ratings.

It’s not the first time Mills has expressed enthusiasm for the Idol reboot.

“I think any platform that shows Australian talent is a great show,” the artist told The Daily Telegraph in November.

Rob criticized Australian radio stations for their lack of support for local talent.

‘To be fair, I think our radio stations do a terrible job promoting Australian artists – you know what time they play Australian music? Midnight to 6 a.m., ”he said.

Mills recently made a shocking return to Neighbors, after his character Finn Kelly famously drowned in the long-running series.

He is currently starring in Chess the Musical, which will tour nationally from April to June 2021.
