NFL fans have been laughing Rob Gronkowski’s interpretation on Aaron Hernandez’s new show, and ‘Gronk’ revealed an incredible fact about the actor who plays him this week.
Actor Laith Wallschleger, who plays Gronkowski in Aaron Hernandez: American Sports Story, the new show that chronicles the latter’s journey from NFL tight end to convicted murderer, went viral for his over-the-top impersonation of Gronkowski in a program scene.
And when talking about Up and Adams from FanDuel TV With Kay Adams later, Gronkowski revealed that Wallschleger is actually a close friend of his who is often his body double in commercials.
Gronkowski added that he has known Wallschleger, a former college football player at the University of Delaware, for 14 years.
“He definitely went overboard, and I feel like he fits the show perfectly, especially with all the other characters, and Coach (Bill) Belichick and just seeing (Patriots owner) Robert Kraft on this show as well.” Gronkowski said.

The 35-year-old admitted that his friend had nailed his laugh on the scene, in which he and fellow tight end Hernandez, who died by suicide in prison in 2017, showed up in the Patriots locker room.
Adams was stunned by Gronkowski’s revelation, and Tom Brady’s former favorite target even told Adams that he had probably met him before.
In the now-viral scene, Gronkowski somewhat cartoonishly informs his new teammate that “they call me Gronk” before enthusiastically punching Hernandez in the chest before practice.
Fans also criticized the fact that the Hernandez actor bore little resemblance to the real player.

‘That’s why sports biographies never work. “I can’t get over the fact that they cast a 5’7″ chubby guy like Aaron Hernandez,” said one fan on X.
“How low was the budget for this?” added another.
“This show seems embarrassing, but this guy makes a good gronk.”
That last sentiment turned out to be common as many other fans praised Wallschleger for the accuracy of his ‘Gronk.’
