A convicted sex offender was filmed throwing the N-word at another driver and ramming his vehicle before losing control of his Jeep and crashing on a California highway.
Tracy Robert Blackwell, 61, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and received hate crime enhancements following the road rage incident in Oakland that went viral.
A heartbreaking video originally posted by Instagram user nunu2fyee, which was viewed by the California Highway Patrol, showed a man in a white Jeep waving his middle finger and shouting slurs and obscenities.
The driver then crashed into a wall alongside the highway during the incident, giving a moment of instant retribution to those subjected to his cries.
Blackwell, who has a criminal history and a registered sex offender, was arrested and jailed on Friday in connection with the viral incident.

Video showed the man – later identified as Blackwell – yelling at the occupants of another vehicle before he appeared to intentionally ram into the victims’ path.
Seconds later, Blackwell lost control of his Jeep and crashed into a wall on the side of the freeway.
The video was recorded on Interstate Highway 880 near Hegenberger Road in Oakland, CHP said.
“At one point in the video, it appeared that the driver had intentionally attempted to ram the victim’s vehicle before losing control and crashing into a wall on the right shoulder of the freeway,” said CHP in a press release.

A search of California’s Megan’s Law database revealed that Blackwell was a convicted sex offender, which the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to KRON.
Blackwell was working as a ‘furniture repairer subcontracting his services to department stores’ in December 2000 and had a criminal record of drug use and burglary when he was first arrested for sex crimes, the agency reported. Oakland Grandstand.
Police were investigating Blackwell because they believe he was stalking a 19-year-old woman and making ‘lewd phone calls’ to her home.
They then discovered that he was in possession of videotapes showing child sexual abuse.
Blackwell was convicted in 2001 of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14. He was released from prison in 2009 and currently resides in Newark, California.
