Trade union RMT STOPs strike action on Network Rail after new offer from bosses
The Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers’ Union (RMT) has suspended all union action on Network Rail after receiving a new wage offer.
In a statement, the RMT said their board had taken the decision to suspend all upcoming actions and that “further updates will be provided in the coming days on all aspects of the national railway dispute.”
The strikes were thought to continue possibly into the autumn, after the largest railway union rejected ‘final’ wage offers in February.
Last month the RMT said offers from Network Rail and the train companies of up to nine per cent over two years were “terrible” and fell short of expectations in terms of “salary, job security or benefits”.
