Police have issued an appeal for help after a woman was assaulted and left with serious injuries following a horror home invasion.

An unidentified man broke into the house on Fitzroy Road, in Rivervale, in Perth’s inner east, about 9.15pm on Friday.

The woman, aged in her 40s, was attacked before the man fled the house taking a mobile phone and car keys.

St John Ambulance paramedics were called to the Fitzroy Road home and the woman was taken to Royal Perth Hospital.

She was treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police later found the stolen phone on Armadale Road, Rivervale, at around 1.05am The two houses are on parallel streets.

Police have asked anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
